Sophie Scarf and Bubble Tea

I discovered this lovely scarf while I was checking out the Knit Club Instagram one late August evening (I need to join Knit Club…check them out if you don’t know about it). They had posted a scarf that one of their lovely community members had just finished and I was completely charmed by the design. So I quickly jumped on Ravelry and bought the pattern. Within the next day or two it was cast on.

Petite Knits, the designer of the pattern had knitted a red version that I thought was so lovely so I decided to do something similar. The pattern calls for a DK weight yarn so I pulled out some left over yarn from my stash. I used two fingering weight yarns, Holst Yarn Super Soft and Cascade Heritage on 4 US(3.5mm). This was my “morning walk while the weather is lovely” project so it did take me a bit of time to finish but under normal circumstances I would think this would be a quick project. Possibly a good weekend project for a speedy knitter. The pattern was clear and easy to understand and I quickly memorized the pattern of the repeats. It would make a great project for a beginner knitter. It was a lovely knit that I would totally recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing project.

A quick round up of the details above:

Project: Sophie Scarf

Designer: Petite Knits

Yarns: Holst Garn Super Soft + Cascade Heritage Sock

Needles: 4us/3.5mm

Now that the Sophie scarf is off the needles I decided to cast on a new pair of socks as a birthday cast on. My birthday was this past Tuesday but it was also a work day…and a tiring one at that, so I only got as far as pulling out the yarn and caking it up that night. I’ve love the yarn I selected… but that will be for another post.

I’m a little late to point out that autumn is officially here. I think it might be because I still have summer on the brain and finally tried out the bubble tea place in Federal Hill, Chai Time. Miss P had been telling me to try this place for years. I finally got a taste for a bubble tea at the tail end of summer and since then it’s been a weekly treat. So far I’ve tried the Matcha with pearls and Tiramisu with the coffee jelly but my favorite so far has been the Brown Sugar with extra pearls. Now that the weather is finally getting cooler I might need to try some of their warmer drinks.
