Modified Owls for SD13

-Pattern: Owls by Kate Davies
-Yarn: Classic Elite Yarns Silky Alpaca Lace (<3 this yarn so much) colorway 2438 Cameroon -Needles:US 00/1.75mm -Modifications: Instead of going with a yarn that would be to scale with what was recommended, I went with a much thinner yarn. The human scale pattern uses a Bulky weight. To be in scale I figured that a fingering weight should have been used. Instead I went with lace. There are 20 little owls sleeping under that collar (sleeping since I left out the button eyes). Since the body that I was making it for was a sd13 boy's body all shaping was left out. The short rows were left out as well since I didn't feel that there was a need to raise the neck line up. I've been wanting to make this sweater for Hitomu forever and I'm so happy I did. I really could not be more ecstatic with the results. For it's scale the weight and drape is really lovely and the fit is just perfect on him. As soon as I finish this post I'll be putting up some photos the Mr graciously took for me this evening up on the dolly blog. Feel free to check them out. This afternoon the Mr, Chan and I went over to my parents to have a wonderful father's day dinner with my dad on top of some pickle making with my mom. Pickling cucumbers are in season at the farmer's market (happy days!) so we got a giant basket and made about 6 jars of pickles. We should be able to test them out in 7 days. As for dinner, my mom made oyster stew and fried soft crabs (nom....<3) It was a good day indeed. I am so stuffed. EDIT: Photo post is up on the doll blog
