Vermiculture

It’s tuesday…. Just kidding. I’m not going to start that one up again.

Went into work this morning to find two medium sized containers filled with compost and worms. It was a total surprise. Matt Clark, a local gardener, worm expert, and weekend turner at the shop dropped the containers off on Sunday after my uncle told him that I was interested in giving the process a go. As soon as I got home I got out my copy of You Grow Girl out and built a worm farm. We’ll see how it goes. I wish I had saved all of my scraps from preparing dinner last night. I’m hoping that in order to keep these guys healthy were going to have to eat healthy so that we can give them all of our clipping, peelings and scraps(veggie scraps that is). Cross fingers that all goes well.

Despite getting the little guys set up this evening, I’m feeling a bit under the weather. I think it’s the weather change (60 today, rain tomorrow…. snow Thursday, maybe O_o). So I think to make me feel a little bit better I’m going to finally purchase a swift. Knit picks is having a sale until april 4th. I’ve had a spinner for years but not a swift. I know that once I get it I’m going to think how did I ever do with out one.
